Not always easy to picture guinea-pigs; especially the free range ones. The first one was rather curious and sweeping his nose in front of the lens (16mm wide angle) and the second one just came back from a truffle (?) hunt in the mud. (See also yesterday’s posting).

hello ! I hope you don’t mind me saying so but this is not a guinea-pig, a guinea-pig is a small rat like animal, this is a wild pig I think

Well … As being Dutch in South Africa I thought the same but here in the ‘Deep South’ of South Africa they keep it simple and just name all pigs looking extra-ordinary ‘Guina-pigs’ … 🙂
