Interesting fact, Herman: this is a strictly highland/montane bird in Kenya, and yet it is found in much lower elevations in your part of the world; as are some other species – this takes me back to Kenya Bird Atlas days – so thank you!!! Adrian 🙂

There is a chance I have to go to Kenya later this year for a photo shoot. Have the idea that there are some more colourful birds tha her in the ‘Deep South’ 😉

Yes, when I wrote the atlas over 30 years ago, there were1,065 species, and some spectacular ones too – how long will you be there? I can recommend some birding sites if that would be useful. 🙂

If everything comes through it will be the shortest possible stay. There is a model shoot planned in Kisumu but all has to be confirmed, even the date is not final yet…… 😉
