Lovely portrait, and a species well remembered from Kenya, where it was known as the Robin Chat >>> and in another life I wrote about the fact that while its a highland bird in Kenya, it extends down to sea level in South Africa where a competing species at lower altitudes is not present. And following eklastic’s comment, birds often do look stern / disapproving to is, don’t they? 🙂

The other day I had an Egyptian Goose flying on and off and every time it passed me it turned its head towards the camera with a ‘smile’. BTW the pictured Cape Robin is our ‘domestic’; flying in and out of the house… 😉

Oh wonderful to have a wild bird flying in and out of your house like that!!! – reminds me of a living room in Kenya with nesting swallows high up in one corner of the ceiling. 🙂
