Typical Cape Nature

You might call it a rant and I don’t care. Where- and whenever I enter a nature reserve I go off the beaten track. I’ve been in several nature reserves in the Western Cape, South Africa that are managed by Cape Nature (a semi-governmental institute). And as always I see rubbish hidden. I saw it recently at the lagoon between Hermanus and Stanford and a week ago also in De Hoop Nature Reserve (a heritage site).

Miscellaneous birds

As pictured in De Hoop Nature Reserve between Swellendam and Bredasdorp in the Western Cape, South Africa. As birding books available in this country contradict each other in amongst others descriptions, names and (unclear) illustrations PLUS the experience that known local birders sometimes have heated discussions about identification, etc. I decided not to mention the names.
