Our house has two wings separated by a verandah. The living quarters is the long wing and from my reading chair I can look right through the bedroom and bathroom to the outdoor shower. But in the evening, with the light on in the bathroom, things are different because the glass sliding door to the outdoor shower suddenly becomes a mirror.
The second picture is taken one meter to the left and there you can still see the yellow wall of the shower space.
Just outside our village along the way to Hermanus there is the community The Blue Moon. Most co-owners adhere to an alternative green lifestyle and you can find, amongst others, a worm nursery, solar power, wind mill(s), etc.
Why the name ‘Blue Moon’ I don’t know but when I shot this picture earlier today I could not help to think of it.
Our labrador is 12 yrs old and that equals the human age of 84. As can happen with very young and very old people food particles are dropped around and every morning there is always one smart bird looking for residues on our stoop (the South African word for verandah). The bird comes in very cautiously; just to make sure that the dog is not around.
Last year we went on a 4-week journey to Europe and Canada. It was for the first time since more than 11 years that we had a holiday ‘out of (South) Africa. We mainly visited family and friends but in between we took time to travel around a bit. With my Sony Cybershot 7.2 I shot a few thousand low resolution pictures (average 100 kB each) so don’t expect much high quality. For this serie of 10 I selected about 30 pics.
Today’s image is that of a refreshing Welcome at Amsterdam Airport.
Objects can be pictured from different angles and processed with different outcomes.

Living at the edge of the village has its advantages. Our street borders a stream (“Vlei” in Afrikaans) with an abundance of winged wildlife. Every morning I let the dog out and we are greeted by ducks, seagulls (the ocean is only a few kilometers in bird flight) and other birds I don’t know the name of. People jogging or on their way to work, etc. Rain or shine; it’s always wonderful and there are always ‘subjects’ to photograph. This serie of 10 begins with a duck in full flight and ends with our border along the wooden fence.
Recently I posted La Mer, La Cote et Le Ciel and these pictures inspired me to create this imaginary.
The title ‘Les Yeux du Ciel’ has a double meaning: ‘The Eyes of the Sky’ and ‘The Eyes of Heaven’.

Within a timeframe of a minute I witnessed the downfall of the full moon during sunrise early this morning.
