(Red-veined dropwing – Trithemis arteriosa)
Every year I make a collage of my favourite photos I took during the year. These pictures are not necessarily the ones that have got the most attraction but rather the ones that means the most to me. They represent such huge experiences for me. See also my other website.
That said I am hugely grateful for all of your engagement here on my page. I love my job and I have a burning passion for what i do. Thank you all for making that possible.I have a lot planned for 2021 and I hope it will be full of close encounters, experiences and breathtaking moments. See you all in the field, and happy new year..
Lockdown South Africa: Day 52. Level 4: Day 17
After 35 days in lockdown we have now some freedom; meaning we may move around within a radius of 5 kilometer for 3 hours daily but we have to stay at home between 20 PM and 5 AM.
One photo daily and all photos in Black & White and in and around Napier, Overberg region, Western Cape, South Africa.
Today’s picture: ‘Lockdown Fly on cactus’
This reminds me of our experience in Robertson, South Africa where we, between 2000 and 2011, owned a private botanical garden with over 2500 different succulent plants in the open.
At one stage we had the slogan:
“Everything you aways wanted to know about sex ….. between plants but never dared to ask”.
The local tourism bureau told tourists NOT to go there because of all the pornography in our garden. It was the best advertisement we ever had ….
