Leaving a prickly stimulating 2012 behind me 2013 will become the year that produces the seed for germinating in 2014.
Review of 2012 in 1 picture
This year’s review of ours can be summarized in this picture of the last full moon in 2012: We feel ourselves very privileged to live in this wonderful village in South Africa. After 11 years of hard pioneering work in an harsh environment in Robertson (125 km from here) it’s such a delight to experience a year and a half long sabbatical with such a magnificent view on the edge of Stanford. Thanks also to all the new friends we made over here. You are wonderful! Let’s go on in 2013 and beyond!
2013 Will be the year that Yvonne and I are starting to generate some income again. Me with photography (amongst others: online posters of imaginaries) and Yvonne with unique handcrafted jewelry made of natural bonded earth, sterling silver and swarovsky crystals. We don’t have to but ‘Idleness is the parent of vice’ as the old English expression learns us.
Inside Outside
Every picture has a story. This one is not an exception. I named it ‘Inside Outside’, but that’s me.
This is the last posting of this year. Having a break but I’ll be back in the early beginning of 2013. Wishing you all a great Christmas celebration and a prosperous 2013 and beyond!!!
Dear WordPress…
Does anybody have a solution??? The support department of wordpress does not respond and their forums/support pages are not very helpful either in this regards…. This is the message I send to support@wordpress.com this morning and simular messages I’ve send during the past few weeks but without any reply….
Hi there,
Before I want to upgrade the blog https://elementaryposters.wordpress.com I should like to see that the problems I am experiencing with secure connections to the wordpress.com server are solved.
I am using a brand-new Apple iMac (MC812) with the latest version of Safari. It does not make any difference when I clear cookies and caches or add an ‘s’ to ‘http’; the problem: Safari is unable to establish a secure connection with the wordpress.com server. Until so far the solutions offered in your forums/support pages are not sufficient. In practice I have to ‘reload’ pages several times. Submitting a post is a hazard for the page does not always open in full and adding photographs …. tsjoo…. I’m sweating.
Please help!
(Thanks)
Herman
The Moon
Last week Friday as seen from our garden:
The Bull
With the pictures I took last week Friday, and published on this blog and the other, I did a little bit of photoshopping. I took for both pics my car, the road, the horizon and a bull as main elements. For the color imaginary I also borrowed a beach boy from Hermanus. It’s all about proportions but I upscaled the bull in the B&W image on purpose. This mighty thoroughbred philandering bull has so much offspring that even South African president Jacob Zuma should have respect for this majestic animal (no offence Mr. President)…
Oh… uh…; Thanks for the unknown reader who added this blog to Blogdash.
The lonely cyclist
Shot this cyclist just outside the gate of our house in Stanford, South Africa:
Insect
Last weekend I took some pictures of insects in our garden. With a Sigma 70-300 macro. And it was windy. A tripod would not work. Had to do it with both hands…
Early morning landscapes
Love to make pictures with sunset and sunrise. Last week Friday morning I went with the bearing in mind that everybody was still asleep. In the village yes but outside in the rural part of Stanford farmers and their workers begin their day as soon as the first light appear at the horizon. It was a bit drizzling at the acres where they just harvested but that gave some of the pictures an extra dimension. Did not have to use Photoshop for colour adjustments except for changing one picture into B&W and some ‘cutting edge technology’…… All pictures made with my Sony A77 VQ camera and I only used the Sigma 70-300 zoom. I adjusted the camera to landscape photography.

No offense Mr. President! If we would have exposed the genitals of your ‘alter ego’ you would suffer an acute inferiority complex. But you may have respect for this champion bull for his offspring is numerous….
