A known South African artist ordered some retro jewellery. Yesterday he drove all the way to our village to collect his order. The maker is my wife and the artist is sculptor Niël Jonker. Picture processed in Macphun Intensify Pro, Noiseless Pro (light) and Tonality.

Rain Animal

First I thought that somebody was experimenting with some kind of nuclear device but it was just a ‘peekaboo cloud’ as I named it originally. From ancient times, however, is the name ‘Rain animal’; “a mythical giant beast, with a gazillion of little legs stretching to the horizon (The rain).  San people danced and tranced to call its blessing”, as South African artist Nicolene Swanepoel wrote me.

The Wall Painter

Roger Williams from Cape Town is well known around the globe with many international accolades. In South Africa he is just ‘known’ …….. here and there.

Last weekend I witnessed Roger and his assistant Nick here in the village engaged in a wall painting. Not finished yet (see last picture) but you can see the finished wall from October onwards when tasting wine in the new tasting room in a winery/restaurant (name is mentioned in the last image). As you can see the ghost comes out of the bottle.
