CV Enriching

Just got a nice CV-enriching email in from one of my clients.

A quote: “It is a wonderful opportunity to have made the acquaintance of such a brilliant photographer who has created for …….. an equally brilliant blog … the 30 something wordpress comments in my inbox this morning bear testimony to this!”……

It just made my day!!!  Co-incidentally it’s also my Birthday 😀

I’m happy!!! So happy that I don’t add a picture to this post ….

A Play with Beth

In the previous posting Beth is showing off the 3-piece prom-dress her grandmother made. During this short Sunday afternoon photo-shoot session I made some additional portraits just for the sheer fun of trying out different processing techniques. I also worked on a few pictures of the previous blog submission.

In the meantime …

I have changed the blog theme. The new theme -Forever- has a more refreshing look and is one of the themes that allows a slide show. See the right column of my blog. Still have to work on the colours (background, etc.) but that will come in due time.

In the meantime also I got annual contracts for social media presentation of a few clients. Have a look at the stunning  jewellery blog of Yvonne de Wit  (unique pieces of ‘down-to-earth art’) and the one of ‘the most unusual and quirky bookshop of South Africa’; Hemingways of Hermanus Both have links to their Facebook pages and use the same theme (with slide shows).

Dormancy in and around our South African Winter Garden

People who follow this blog know that we have a fairly unusual garden with merely (rare) succulent plants from all over the world. We enjoy a year-round floral display but also a year-round dormancy. This gallery shows some plants having their Winter Sleep.

Reflection in the Mist

Just saw the statistics of this blog: last night two mile stones the first being 40,000 views (excluding the bloggers who scan through the WordPress Reader) and 1000 likers!!!

And it was misty early this morning …

Like a woman ….

…… Soft on the outside but watch out for the spines in between …. 😉 (Alluaudia procera. Origin: Madagascar)

What I in fact want to tell is that I’m out of this blog … for one week … but be back Friday 4 October (that’s ‘Animal Day’ according to the Roman Catholic church which also happens to be my Birth Day….). Wonder if I’m going to meet Shiara …. 😉 Should be around in this part of South Africa I understood….

Food presentation in Black and White

This morning I’ve been engaged in the assignment of food presentation in Black & White for a restaurant. I did one plate in different stages of ‘food-decoration’. I’ve chosen three images for this blog.
