No very appropriate on top of the previous post (subject wise, I mean) but this is what I just witnessed. So I keep it to thumbnails you can enlarge if you want. Pity I don’t have an 800 mm lens… thus the pictures are severely cropped; another reason for thumbnails … 😉
BTW the predator is a Peregrine Falcon.
….. is always Sunshine.
After heavy rainfall on Thursday 9 May the sun came through and around 9 AM I shot several detail pictures with my Sony A77 with Sigma 70-300 Macro lens. The lens was directed more or less towards the sun. All images in B&W. Today number 1o of 10. Think that this photo and the first one are the best.
It’s not easy to make pictures of birds if your equipment is limited to a maximum of 300mm. An 800mm lens is the least one should have to shoot wildlife including birdlife. But these lenses are from a budgetary point of view out of reach for many of us; especially if you want good quality. So simple souls like me have to stick to a bit of luck and cropping in photo-processing software.
Anyway, this week I gave it a try, in-between shooting a spectacular sunrise. Tomorrow (next posting) “More Aircraft”; part of it grounded….
Just snap shooting with Sony 16-50mm lens mounted on the A77 camera. Few pics have been cropped but no other editing in Photoshop. Me and my wife Yvonne live in Stanford, Western Cape that was recently awarded with “Best Village Destination in South Africa”. Yes we are privileged! And yes; we do have a very unusual garden with some plants and plant combinations that stimulate one’s imagination. But we’ll come back on this subject in the next posting.
