Recently I posted a picture with the title ‘Perception’. I referred to the book ‘Doors of Perception’ of Aldous Huxley and the classic movie ‘Lawrence of Arabia. This is another imaginary situated against the early morning mountainous backdrop of the emptiness of the Little Karoo in South Africa. And as always with my imaginaries: I’m watching you!
Aldous Huxley once wrote ‘Doors of Perception’ in which he described experiments with hallucinating drugs. Last week we made a trip to the hot and dry Little Karoo in South Africa and when I was looking through the pictures today I made some associations; one of these was ‘Doors of Perception’, another the classic movie ‘Lawrence of Arabia’. And I love peacocks …..
There are people who find ‘spiritual enlightment’ in a decorated (bit of paint, a few candles) pig stable in McGregor in South Africa and if they are happy with it … fine with us. They pay a little fortune for that and that is fine for the owner … 😉
We went budget friendly into the mountains somewhere in the hot and dry Little Karoo and disappeared in emptiness …..
