Made in South Africa

A combination of natural bonded South African soil and South African Sterling Silver; very time consuming to create but each piece of this kind of jewellery art is unique and is complemented with a certificate with the name of the owner as model-name.

People from outside South Africa love it. Unfortunately many South Africans, so it seems, are not very proud of ‘Made in South Africa’….

Silhouette 8

Not all will agree that this is a silhouette and that’s fine with me. I’m a purist by nature but I am also a notorious breaker of all kinds of rules and prefer to go for the unknown. Sometimes my behavior leads to a dent in my ego and that’s also fine. I only live once and life is there to be lived.

For this serie of 10 ‘Imaginary Silhouttes’ I made use of 2 beach girls (they won’t recognize themselves πŸ™‚ ) for the first 9 and Yvonne modeled for the last one. I’m not fully satisfied about all but think that there are at least 2 or 3 that are acceptable.

Let me know what you think and I’m not afraid for another dent …

Portrait of Yogi the cat

This portrait is dedicated to a ‘lawyer’ in Holland who makes astonishing portraits of people; just for the sheer fun of it. Suspect (! πŸ™‚ ) that for many pictures he’s using his gorgeous secretaries as model! And ‘Ooggetuige’ blogs them. Enjoy his pictures here (opens new window).

Oh… uh… Yogi is done in monochrome; some new skill that needs a bit of honing…_DSC7796

Imaginary in the making

What you see here is the beginning and a small part of a new imaginary in which shades and the real objects/persons flow into a surreal landscape. This time I’ve got a clear picture in mind; no ‘play’ with objects but focussed on the end result. Still have to make some pictures with my favorite model and some objects under the right (natural) light conditions. But the concept is there. Once I’ve finished this one and others using the same concept I hope to exhibit the imaginaries somewhere in an art gallery. Anyone interested?
