Giclee prints Flowers

Recently I start experimenting with opalotype processing of pictures. I’m still in the experimental phase but, unexpectedly, there seems some demand for giclee prints. And there occurs a problem: first of all it’s difficult to find a printer in South Africa who can offer a consistent high quality. For the board and canvas prints I found one in Cape Town (and these guys are extreme good!!!). But there are not many giclée printers in South Africa. The ones I found via internet still have to respond to my email request for a quote ….

This gallery shows a few opalotype pictures of flowers (all trials!):

Ready for delivery

Just waiting for the big print of the Arum lily (2nd image). The 12 small prints are all framed by Frames for Africa in nearby Hermanus. All pictures are designated for the restaurant Organic at Heart in Cape Town.

Duck shooting in Stanford, South Africa

I love Japanese paintings and prints and should like to have an original at home. This morning, before the rain turned loose, I had my doggy walk with camera in hand and came across a bunch of ducks having their Sunday morning nap on some branches sticking out of the water. While processing the pictures I cropped one and with Japan in mind I started to play a bit with Photoshop. Not perfect but who is? Let’s stick to a Dutch/African interpretation of it.
