Couldn’t make a choice out of 2 versions of 1 picture so I publish them both 😉
I hardly go out to make pictures. In and around the house or during a doggy walk I find enough subjects worth to picture. But very soon I will start travelling again; just to keep myself refreshed and ‘rejuvenated’… Recently I published several sunset pictures shot through the front door of our ‘modest dwelling’ in Stanford, South Africa. I love this place but I don’t want to get stuck and, yes, South Africa has so much beauty (virtually around every corner); one just has to see it… This picture of my front door does not mean that I won’t publish more front door sunsets. Just wait and see! 😀
The Cape Cormorant (Phalacrocorax capensis. Fam. Phalacrocoracidae) is a common sea bird along the Southern coast of South Africa. Usually they sit on rocks along the shore. Fairly easy to approach but not closer than 7-8 meters before they get restless and migrate to another rock.
I made several pictures of the group and processed these, except for one image (=as is) in different ways in Photoshop. Not sure which photo to choose for this post so I publish them all.
In primary school in Holland we learned that clouds were made above the sea. During many travels abroad we learned that this is not (always) the case. Thursday Morning August 1 I did my farm tour around the village and this is part 2 of the result. Sometimes I’m still in doubt wether I will process a picture in B&W or in color. In those cases I will publish both. Same applies for processing in color so there is one ‘chapter’ in the serie with two full color images of the same landscape. Maybe some of you have an opinion?
At last but not at least I have to thank all those farmers and their staff who let me intrude in their work and life. It’s a homage to all those fine people who are shaping the landscape that inspires me endlessy. Thank you guys!
