First selection …. (2)

… for prints (each in a numbered and signed edition of 10) that go on sale in Cape Town towards the end of this month. More prints to follow. When there are 20-25 ready we make a further selection. After final selection only 10 or 11 left.

Still quite a few pictures to go through plus reprocessing.

Times Square

24 July between 8 and 9 PM Times Square NYC, Broadway/46Str. Two of my pictures  will lighten up The Big Apple. One is a stylised self-portrait and the other, a stylised landscape, is shot at Raka Winery in Stanford towards the N2 between Riviersonderend and Caledon. Selection made by a jury of known top photographers and representatives of the ‘art scene’.

New York, New York. Here I am!

Selection Springfontein Eats (drinks too): Eating Poems

Since a month or so there is a new restaurant in (or better: just outside) the village. Not one of 13 in a dozen but it’s one with the first Michelin Star rating in South Africa. Ain’t we lucky!

One can use many, many words in bragging about the food but I just quote one of our previous neighbors who just said: “I ate poems”.

Springfontein Eats is located at the estate of Springfontein Winery and to qualify their wines: “I drunk …..”. My personal favorites of this cellar are the Chenin Blanc and Petit Verdot (only a few estates in South Africa produce Petit Verdot which is an excellent digestive).

Anyway I was there this morning to show my wife the pictures I made and which (on 60×90 CM board) are hanging on the walls. For me the opportunity to make some extra pictures just to show you the ambiance in case you’re in the neighborhood one day…

Evening falls and a YouTube

Time for dinner. After dinner time for a Youtube with a selection of pictures and a few imaginaries made in the past 6 months in and around our village (Stanford, somewhere in nowhere in South Africa). Unfortunately the YouTube is for whatever reason not of the best quality but interested parties can send me their email adress (to: greenc -at- omail.co.za) and I’ll send an MPEG-4 file of about 15.4 MB,

Miniature landscapes in a small garden 8

We only have a small garden plus a lawn with a border for our dog. The succulent garden (4 patches) measures about 80 square meters and is home to around 600 different registered species. Some of the plants are naturally multiplying (always a healthy sign for a garden)  and of some we take cuttings which we plant nearby the parent plant. In total, wild guess;  probably around 1000-1100 plants of this surface. Within the garden we try to create miniature landscapes sometimes hidden between rocks or bigger plants and sometimes part of a bigger patch with more spheres. Why not share a selection of 8 different ones?
