Luthier Extraordinaire

Maira Barragán from La Problaciôn (Cordoba) in Argentinia is a gifted person. She builds (and plays) the cuatro ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuatro_(instrument) ). Not just ordinary ones but as a real ‘Luthier’ she creates cuatros with wood and silver inlays (the last probably inspired by her jewellery making father).

Maira is visiting the place I live in and more than happy to show off. Photographs are all processed in a different way but all shot with settings ISO 400, A 8 and S 1/15 (with Canon and Sony cameras).

Drip hunting in the garden

“The Early Bird catches the Worm” is an old English expression. Translated for photographers: “The Early Bird catches the Drips”. Early one morning, with the camera settings on macro, I went drip hunting in the garden.

The Amazing Sunset at the Lodge

As promised in an earlier posting: some sunset pictures shot at the Stanford River Lodge (Stanford, South Africa) and from a canoe in the adjacent Klein Rivier (= Little River). The camera settings adjusted to sunset/dawn. No photoshopping except for some cropping, grayscale and the copyright lines.
