Every first Friday of the month 14 galleries in Hermanus remain open until 8 PM displaying the work of around 300 artists. Art Thirst is one of those galleries and owned by well known South African painter Leon Müller. This Friday evening he will have a surprise artist in his gallery. Men are invited to bring their wives/spouses and surprise them with a treasure of Mother Earth. You will see it at the entrance when you pop in this Friday between 6 and 8 PM. You are Welcome.
The ‘Hermanus First Friday Art Walk‘ is an initiative of the participating galleries which are virtually all within walking distance from each other.
3 January I joined the first hike (12 km) of the Strandveld Hiking club. The hike followed a coastal stretch between Die Kelders and Gansbaai in the Western Cape, South Africa. It was a surprise hike that lead us through some public and private caves. The first post (yesterday morning) consisted of blue tinted B&W pictures (portraits) of the hikers. The second one (previous post) of some images of the scenery and this third one with underground cave scenery. All pictures of this post (except for the 3 first ones in the gallery are shot without flash and tripod.
