Recently I became inspired by a blog post of Laura Macky in which she revealed that her bathroom also functions as her photo studio. I was very uninspired that day but that changed immediate after reading about her high heels. Well the combination of high heels and bathroom brings quite a few associations to the surface. My one was that my feet (I do a lot of bare feet walking 😉 ) needed some attention. Why not spoil them in a foam bath? And so I did and took my camera with me. Maybe the Toemailers are now also into bathroom toes (?) 😉
Welcome in my temporary studio!
Imaginary mural ( with crack 😉 )
Shades are a reflection in a way. Just a mini-serie of 4. See for yourself.
This last chapter is dedicated to the Toemailers Angela & Quillan who show us toes from around the globe including my wife’s and mine. Here is another one of my toes, shade included!
Recently I submitted some pictures of toes I shot during a stroll along Grotto Beach in Hermanus, South Africa. Today I did some simple photoshopping resulting in these imaginaries. All have a hint of surrealism.
Photographing toes is a subject with endless possibilities. There is even a blog dedicated to toe pictures and this blog inspired me last Sunday to picture a few toes moving around along the Grotto Beach in nearby Hermanus, Western Cape, South Africa.
The first toe subject is that of the “Beach Boys” (life guards) and the second are the toes of our dear friend Beatrice Pooke (best Masseuse around and this is not exaggerated) who came with us from Stanford for a long walk along the beach and the lagoon.
